- The position requires troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Optical/DWDM networking technologies.
- Understanding of different Network technologies at Layer 3 (Routing) and Layer 2 (Switching); which includes knowledge of some of the protocols like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, VLAN, RSTP.
- Able to think key scenarios, write test & execute test cases.
- Good understanding of Python/Java/C++ and programming concepts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and dedicated to meeting deadlines independently.

- Completed Bachelors or Master’s in Electronics and Communication
What are the responsibilities of Field Service Associate at Ciena?
- Develop and execute network plans for carrying out new network rollouts or augmentation of networks.
- Troubleshoot reported issues from the network and drove resolutions with customer and engineering teams.
- Automation of configurations using automation tools and frameworks.
- Work closely with engineers and PMs across teams to ensure timely and quality customer delivery.
- Coordinate activities with North American engineering teams as needed.
- Attend acceptance test plans, Functional Specifications, and script reviews, which will help ramp up the feature/ product knowledge required later to develop new network rollout plans.
- Go through different RFCs and standards (ITU-T, IEEE, etc.) related to the product’s supported features and use that knowledge to improve project execution further.
