IT Support Technician: Job Description
Responsibilities
- Supporting the onboarding process and offboarding process of employees
- Provide IT training for new employees.
- Providing technical support to internal users, and employees addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
- Monitoring system performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Support the maintenance and administration of Google Workspace and other cloud based applications.
- Managing and maintaining VPN services to ensure secure remote access for employees.
- Ensure regular updates and patches are applied to systems and software to maintain security and performance.
- Collaborate with wider tech teams on various projects, such as system upgrades and migrations.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of new IT initiatives and technologies.
- Assist in the development and documentation of IT policies and procedures.
- Supporting compliance processes by ensuring IT practices adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
- Assisting in preparing for and conducting IT audits, including providing necessary documentation and evidence.
- Work with compliance teams to implement and maintain security measures and protocols.
Skills Required
- Relevant experience in IT support specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
- Experience with Google Workspace administration and support.
- Ability to work independently.
