The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced about 17727 number of vacancies, for Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts. The number of vacancies has increased from last year by two folds, making it a great opportunity for candidates preparing for the SSC CGL 2024 exam.

SSC CGL is a national-level recruitment exam conducted annually by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for various Group B and Group C posts, such as Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector, Inspector, Executive Officer, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Junior Intelligence Officer, Junior Statistical Officer, Auditor, Accountant, Postal Assistant, Senior Secretariat Assistant, and Tax Assistant. The last date for online application for SSC CGL Recruitment 2024 is 24 July 2024.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has set some eligibility criteria for different posts as given below.

Educational Qualifications

  • Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
  • Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
  • Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution or Degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.
  • All other posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
Candidates who appeared in their final year of their graduation can are also eligible to apply, however they must possess Essential qualifications on or before 01-08-2024.

 

Age Limit (As on 1 August 2024)

The candidates must fall in the age group of 18 to 32 years. Candidates can check the post-wise age limit by checking the table on Page 2 of the Official notification.

Application Procedure

All eligible candidates fill up their form by visiting the official website www.ssc.gov.in. or can click on the Apply now button below to get to official website. The window for correction to the SSC CGL Application Form will be opened on 10th and 11th August 2024.

Application fee

The candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- while submitting their application form online at www.ssc.gov.in. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are exempted from payment of application fees. The last date to pay the application fee is 25th July 2024 (11 pm). The application fee can be paid online through GooglePay, PhonePe, PayTM or BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Debit cards.

SSC CGL Selection Process

There will be two stages of Computer Based Test for SSC CGL 2024 Exam. Candidates shortlisted in the First stage (Tier I) will be allowed to appear in the Second Stage (Tier II) Examination.
Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).
Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
Final selection of candidates will be purely based on the performance of Tier II Examination.
